Upgrading Your Server

When to Upgrade

Consider upgrading if:
  • Players experience lag
  • Server runs out of RAM
  • You’re adding more players
  • You’re adding mods/plugins
  • Storage is running low

How to Upgrade

  1. Log into billing portal
  2. Go to your server service
  3. Click “Upgrade/Downgrade”
  4. Select new plan
  5. Review price difference
  6. Confirm upgrade

Upgrade Timing

  • Upgrades are typically instant
  • Server may need a restart
  • Prorated billing applies

Proration

You only pay the difference for the remaining billing period: 
Example:
- Current: $3.99/month (15 days remaining)
- Upgrade: $7.99/month
- Pay now: ~$2.00 (prorated difference)
- Next month: $7.99

Downgrading Your Server

When to Downgrade

Consider downgrading if:
  • Fewer players than expected
  • Removed mods/plugins
  • Lower resource usage

How to Downgrade

  1. Log into billing portal
  2. Go to your server service
  3. Click “Upgrade/Downgrade”
  4. Select smaller plan
  5. Review changes
  6. Confirm downgrade

Downgrade Considerations

Before downgrading, ensure your server can run on lower resources:
  • Check current RAM usage
  • Check current storage usage
  • Test with fewer resources if possible

Credit for Downgrades

  • Prorated credit applied to account
  • Credit used for future invoices
  • No cash refunds for downgrades

  1. Go to Startup settings
  2. Change server type
  3. May require reinstall
