Installing Mods
Enhance your Satisfactory experience with mods! Add quality of life improvements, new features, and expanded content to your dedicated server. Before You Start
Step 1: Download Satisfactory Mod Manager
The easiest way to manage mods on your server is using the Satisfactory Mod Manager (SMM).- Download SMM from smm.ficsit.app
- Install and open the Mod Manager on your computer
Step 2: Connect SMM to Your Server
SMM can connect directly to your Vexium server using SFTP.Get Your SFTP Credentials
- Log into the Game Panel
- Select your Satisfactory server
- Go to Settings → SFTP Details
- Note your:
- Server Address (IP and port)
- Username
- Password (same as your panel password)
Add Your Server to SMM
- In SMM, click Manage Servers in the left panel under “Other”
- Click Add Server
- Enter your connection details in this format:
- SMM will browse your server files - navigate to the folder containing
FactoryServer.exe - Click Select to add the server
Step 3: Check Mod Compatibility
Not all mods support dedicated servers. Before installing:- Visit ficsit.app and find your desired mod
- Check the Latest Version section for a “Server” column
- Look for a checkmark (✓) - this means the mod supports dedicated servers
- An X means the mod does NOT support dedicated servers yet
In SMM, when managing a server install, you can enable Compatible filtering to only show mods that work with dedicated servers.
Step 4: Install Mods
Stop Your Server First
- Go to your Game Panel
- Select your server and click Stop
- Wait for the server to fully shut down
Install via SMM
- In SMM, select your server from the Game Version dropdown
- Browse or search for mods
- Click Install on the mods you want
- SMM will automatically download mods and their dependencies
Start Your Server
- Return to your Game Panel
- Click Start to boot the server with mods
Step 5: Install Mods on Your Client
Players must have the exact same mods installed to join your server.Recommended Approach
- Use the same SMM installation to manage both your client and server
- Install identical mods on both
- Share your mod list with other players so they can match
Share Your Mod Profile
- In SMM, go to Profiles
- Export your profile
- Share the file with other players
- They can import it to get the same mods
Configuring Mods
Some mods have configuration options:- Configure mods on your client first
- Locate config files (check
%LOCALAPPDATA%\FactoryGame\Saved\Config) - Upload the config files to your server via SFTP or File Manager
- Restart the server for changes to take effect
Client and server configs should match to avoid unexpected behavior.
Troubleshooting

- Verify your SFTP credentials are correct
- Ensure you’re using the SFTP port, not the game port
- Check that your panel password is correct
Mods Not Loading
- Confirm the server was fully stopped before installing mods
- Verify all mods support dedicated servers
- Check that mod versions match between client and server
- Restart the server after installing mods
Connection Failed Due to Mod Mismatch
- Compare installed mods between client and server
- Ensure mod versions are identical
- Remove mods one by one to identify the problem mod
Server Crashes After Adding Mods
