Getting Started with Conan Exiles

Get your Conan Exiles server up and running in minutes!

Step 1: Order Your Server

  1. Visit vexiumhosting.com
  2. Select Conan Exiles from the game list
  3. Choose your plan:
    • 6GB - Small vanilla servers (10-20 players)
    • 8GB - Medium vanilla servers (20-30 players)
    • 12GB - Modded servers (minimum for mods)
    • 16GB - Heavy mod usage, large populations
  4. Select Budget or Premium tier
  5. Complete checkout

Step 2: Access Your Server

  1. Log into the Game Panel
  2. Click on your Conan Exiles server
  3. Your server will begin the initial installation automatically
The first startup may take several minutes as the server downloads all required files from Steam.

Step 3: Configure Basic Settings

Before inviting players, configure your server basics:
  1. Go to the Startup tab in the Game Panel
  2. Configure the available settings:
    • Server Name - Appears in the server browser
    • Auto Update - Enable/disable automatic updates on restart
  3. Click Save
Additional settings like server password, max players, and admin password are configured via config files. See the Server Configuration guide for details.

Step 4: Start Your Server

  1. Go to the Console tab
  2. Click Start
  3. Wait for the server to fully initialize
  4. Look for LogServerStats: Sending data in the console - this means your server is ready
The first startup takes longer as the server generates the world. Subsequent starts are much faster.

Finding Your Server In-Game

Via Server Browser

  1. Launch Conan Exiles
  2. Click Play Online
  3. Click Direct Connect or browse the server list
  4. Search for your server name
  5. Enter the password if required

Via Direct Connect

  1. Get your server IP and port from the Network tab in the Game Panel
  2. In Conan Exiles, click Play OnlineDirect Connect
  3. Enter your server IP and port (default: 7777)
  4. Click Connect

These ports are automatically configured. You don’t need to change them unless you have specific requirements.

Server Configuration Files

Your server settings are stored in:
/home/container/ConanSandbox/Saved/Config/WindowsServer/
Key files:
  • ServerSettings.ini - Main server configuration
  • Engine.ini - Engine settings and performance
  • Game.ini - Game rules and settings

Becoming an Admin In-Game

  1. Set your admin password in the server settings
  2. Join your server
  3. Press EscapeSettingsServer Settings
  4. Enter your admin password
  5. Click Make Me Admin
You now have access to admin commands and the admin panel.
